Job Description

Running a successful registered charity that supports over 500 people across 100 locations calls for experience in a broad range of areas.

Walsingham Support is a charity that has been supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries and complex needs across England and Wales since 1986. We pride ourselves on putting the individuals we support at the centre of everything that we do enabling us to deliver truly person-centred support solutions that provide independence and happiness.

So we can continue to do this in the very best and most supportive way, we're looking for some new skilled and enthusiastic people to join us.

About The Organisation

Walsingham Support specialises in the provision of support both at home and in the heart of the community. Indeed, we’ve been supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, and complex needs for 35 years.

We pride ourselves on putting the individuals we support at the centre of everything that we do enabling us to deliver truly person-centred support solutions that provide independence and happiness, specifically tailored support for every single person we work with, custom made to fit them.

As an organisation, we always look beyond a person’s disability. We work with individuals, their families and carers to really understand the challenges they face and the support that will best meet their particular needs. Then, together we develop creative yet practical solutions that match each person’s abilities and goals, giving them the tools they need to thrive and enjoy a fulfilling, happy life.

Who we're looking for:

Walsingham would like to recruit a range of individuals who have lived experiences of social care and perspectives in the charity at every level. The organisation would also increase the diversity of our leadership.

Accordingly, we would particularly welcome applications from groups who are currently under-represented among the Trustees, including young people, people with a disability and people of colour and ethnic minority heritage.

We'd be delighted to hear from you if any of the following experiences:

  • professional or academic;
  • lived experience;
  • learning disabilities;
  • health & social care management;
  • human resources;
  • finance;
  • digital and regulatory matters.

*Closing date for applications is 11th June 2021
