Job Description

ABOUT US, Seacroft Friends and Neighbours Charity :

We have a passion for helping older people, we are a charity and our organisation has been working in Seacroft Leeds for over 30 years. We support over 900 elderly clients with many being in their 80’s and 90’s and often they have recognised disabilities and some have life limiting illnesses.

We look at promoting independent living, combating social isolation and aim to improve health and wellbeing.  The older person is at the heart of everything we do.  We are one of the 37 Neighbourhood Networks recognised and supported by Leeds City Council.

We have a forward looking approach and are looking for skilled people to help guide our charity and to help us give the best for our older people and the community.

The Treasurer generally meets with the Manager once a month (currently on line) to: • review income and expenditure in terms of the annual budget; • make a judgement on the overall financial state of the charity; • prepare a short report for Board meetings  and a yearly report for the Annual General Meeting.

The Treasurer, (and a number of Trustees) are authorised to approve online payments approve  staff salaries. As outlined above, the Treasurer is a member of the Board of Trustees and meetings are currently held every two months on a Thursday afternoon. The Treasurer plays a major role in terms of organisational decision-making and developments. Whilst experience of managing budgets and analysing financial data is not essential it would be helpful in the role of Treasurer.

A commitment of approximately 2 to 4 hours a month would make a huge difference and your skills can contribute to a fantastic cause.

Trustee training can be provided and all out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed.
