Volunteer Treasurer/Finance & Risk Chair to Local Charity
|Job Title:||Volunteer Treasurer/Finance & Risk Chair to Local Charity|

Carers Support East Kent (CSEK) provides information and support to over 8,000 carers. We are the sole provider of this service in East Kent (Ashford/Canterbury through to Thanet) and we are funded by Kent County Council. We are just going into year two of a four-year contract and about to scope out a new income-generation initiative in order to be able to provide additional services to carers.
Our current Treasurer will retire in Q1 of 2021 - leaving CSEK in very good shape financially, thereby creating a great opportunity for his successor. The new Treasurer will work with the newly-elected Chair, and the 10-person board, as the organisation moves into an exciting new phase of its development.
We have a fairly new - and diverse, board, 50/50 male/female that operates across three working sub-committees: Finance & Risk (chaired by the Treasurer), People & Governance and Planning & Quality. Both the board and sub-committees meet quarterly. All our meetings are currently 'virtual' and we plan to continue with this arrangement - with the possible exception of our March and/or December board meetings, once face-to-face meetings are permitted. We would anticipate the Treasurer committing to approximately 15 hours per month - and possibly slightly more during the annual preparation of our accounts in August/September. Our external auditors are Kreston Reeves.
