Job Description

 

Munro Health is a small London based charity that delivers a range of complementary therapies to support the health and well-being of disadvantaged groups who would otherwise not be able to access such treatments.  We typically partner with other community groups and organisations to deliver services. Our beneficiaries are diverse and includes carers, the elderly, homeless and survivors of traumatic events. We were founded by Lucille Munro who was awarded an MBE in 2003 for her services to community health.  We are dedicated to continuing her legacy to enrich lives and provide support through complementary therapies.

We are looking for a treasurer to join the trustee board.  Ideally, although not essential, you will be a qualified accountant with experience iof business/charity financial reporting and accounts, budgeting & cash flow and financial control. You will liaise with our part-time financial controller and provide guidance and agree appropriate reports for board meetings.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing and monitoring finances of the charity with the help of the charity’s financial controller

  • Ensuring appropriate risk management processes are in place and are in compliance with governing documents

  • Represent the board as appropriate in liaising with internal and external parties related to financial and accounting matters

  • Monitoring and advising on financial matters and implications of charity’s strategic plan or activities

  • Agree suitable reporting for board meetings and repor back on financial administration of the charity

We welcome applications from people of all ages (over 18) and backgrounds who feel they have the skills and attributes to fulfill this role. This is a non-remunerated role however reasonable travel expenses for board meetings will be reimbursed.  The expected minimum time commitment is 10 hours per month. Board meetings are held in Central London every 6-8 weeks.
