Job Description

The organisation

Centre for Big Synergy (CBS) is a not-for-profit global consortium of change makers committed to creating a more responsible future for all. CBS runs projects addressing one or more of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through its global projects it is helping create a more responsible tomorrow for all of us in this complexly interconnected modern world! Projects are coordinated and led by advisors and volunteers in partnership with members of the public and organisations in the UK and abroad. Everyone volunteers for the causes pursued through the various projects. We have been fortunate to have received encouraging success with several of the projects started so far and intend to progress onwards and upwards with our upcoming initiatives.

The role

We are currently looking to recruit a qualified accountant to file our annual accounts to HMRC and Companies House UK. The submissions are due mid-May 2020. These would be the first accounts of CBS and hence very minimal.

This is a one off opportunity starting as soon as possible and is expected to take a day or 2 at max, on a voluntary, unpaid basis. However, CBS would very much want to extend its invitation for the right individual to join us as a formal financial advisor on a voluntary basis. A commitment of no more than 4 days in a year would be requested for preparing and submitting the annual accounts and advice us on matters pertaining to accounting and financial planning of the organisation.

Qualifications / experience

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or similar) qualified accountant with adequate experience of preparing and submitting accounts for not-for-profit organisations
  • Experience of working or volunteering in a UK charity or not-for-profit organisation
  • Experience of helping newly formed not-for-profits with their financial planning and organisation is desirable

How to apply (deadline 10th May 2020)
