Crossroads Care Staffordshire
Crossroads Care Staffordshire is part of a national network of local charities employing
over 5,000 trained professionals and helping more than 40,000 people. Together they form
Britain’s leading provider of support for carers and those they care for. We aim to help carers
improve their quality of life by offering a full range of services, including palliative care, night
sitting service and individual and group activities for children and young people living with
a disability. Although we are a professional organisation, we are also a registered charity and
thus need the financial support of our local community by way of donations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer of any age to join our Board,
primarily as Vice-Chair as well as playing a full part as Trustee. Although previous
experience of Trusteeship is not essential as a full induction will be given, an understanding of
the rôle of carers, the health services and social care would be very useful, as would
experience in marketing, income generation, human resources or information technology.
Board meetings are held during normal office hours six times a year and last for two to three
hours with occasional participation in a further sub-group (finance, policy or quality).
Trustees normally commit to serving a term of a minimum of three years which can be
renewed. Travel expenses are also paid.
We REALLY, REALLY need you and think that you would find life with us very rewarding.
