We are looking for outstanding candidates with finance/audit and equality/diversity experience to join the new Management Board for the Independent Monitoring Boards.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new national Management Board, a key part of the new governance structure for Independent Monitoring Boards (IMBs). IMBs have a statutory responsibility to monitor the conditions and treatment of those in prisons and immigration, and to report on this to Ministers.
The Management Board is chaired by the IMB National Chair, Dame Anne Owers, and will consist of seven IMB members, with a wide variety of experience, plus two external members. It will support the 128 Boards and their 1400 members: owning and developing the strategies, policies and guidance that underpin their work and can enhance their impact.
We are specifically seeking:
- one external member with finance, audit and risk experience, to assist the board in financial and budgetary oversight and help develop a risk register
- one external member with experience of assisting organisations to meet best practice in equality and diversity.
These are unpaid roles, with travel and other expenses paid. Please visit our website at https://www.imb.org.uk/vacancies-on-new-management-board-for-imbs-supporting-independent-monitoring-of-detention/ for more information and to download an application form.
The deadline for applications is 9th November.
