Aston-Mansfield is seeking trustees with expertise in Fundraising, Communications/Marketing, or Health & Wellbeing.
Aston-Mansfield has been working in the heart of east London for over 130 years. We provide a wide range of community development support and activities in the London Borough of Newham, directly delivering services to around 1000 people and 900 organisations each year.
We want to see more children, young people and families in Newham and east London leading happy healthy lives, realising their potential and unlocking their ambition.
Using an integrated and community focused approach we will make long long-lasting change, offering opportunity, community and inspiration to children, families and young people in Newham and east London.

Our current strategy includes growing our work with children and young people and families, and creating a new GP/Primary Care Centre at one of our community buildings, and developing more community based health and well being work.
We are looking for Trustees who have particular expertise in one of the following areas: ·
- Marketing and Communications ·
- Health & Wellbeing
We want to create a more diverse board, and in particular would welcome applications from women, people from a black, Asian and minority ethnic background, and younger people.
- Senior management experience of fundraising (Trusts/Foundations, and/or Corporate), or Marketing and Communications, or development of community based health and wellbeing programmes
- A willingness to listen to the views of others but also to speak one’s mind
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- An understanding of the legal responsibilities and liabilities of a trustee
- An interest in, and commitment to the mission, values and activities of Aston Mansfield
- A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as Trustee

We know that our current programmes for children, young people and families have a significant impact on their lives, by developing their skills and improving their wellbeing. By growing our programmes, and expanding our offer, we know that we can increase our impact. In order to do that, we need to broaden the expertise and diversity of our Trustees.

How to apply
Please apply via Reach Volunteering in the first instance. The process includes an initial exploratory meeting with the Chief Executive, followed by a meeting with the Chair, another Trustee and the Chief Executive. A DBS check and references are required as part of the process.
