We are a local charity that provides advice and information about a wide range of issues that impact on people’s lives, such as debts, benefits, employment, housing and consumer rights.
We offer a client centred approach that seeks to equip people so that they can take responsibility for resolving their problems for themselves whenever possible.
About the role
We are looking to recruit up to three trustees to join our board. You will play a central role in the strategic management of the organisation. You will also be invited to get involved in subcommittees and other activities that support the Board and Citizens Advice Wirral. Day-to-day operation and financial management of the organisation and preparation of budgets and reports is delegated to the Chief Executive Officer and senior management team.
You will be involved with a highly committed board and management team and will see how the services delivered by our dedicated staff and volunteers make such a positive difference to the lives of so many people on the Wirral.
You will meet new people and will have the opportunity to build a network of contacts, and to be part of an organisation that is supported by a national network.
Finally, you will work with new and interesting people from a range of people and be part of a friendly and professional team.

We want a board with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds. At the current time, we would welcome applications from people with skills in digital media, marketing, investment and legal services.
We are fully committed to increasing the diversity of our board. To this end we want to recruit people with different skills, life experiences and from different backgrounds. We would especially welcome applications from women, people from a variety of ethnic minority backgrounds, and younger people, who are all under-represented on our board.
Board meetings are currently held every three months, but this may be increased to every two months. They last for about 2 hours and take place in the evening, during the week.
