Creative Support is an innovative organisation with charitable status providing personalised care and support services for adults and older people with a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities. We currently support around 6,000 service users in 67 local authorities across England. We are also registered with Homes England as a provider of social housing, with a supported housing portfolio of over 1,000 units. We have an annual turnover of around £120 million and employ over 5,000 highly committed staff.
An opportunity has arisen to recruit new trustees to our Board. We are seeking people who have an appreciation and enthusiasm for our work and are committed to our charitable ethos and values. We require trustees who can demonstrate vision and relevant knowledge, skills and experience. In particular, we are seeking to recruit trustees with expertise in finance or audit work, gained either in a commercial or not-for-profit environment, who can contribute to overseeing financial reporting, risk and governance. Previous experience at Board level would be helpful but not essential. We would also be pleased to receive applications from people with personal or family experience of using support services.
You will need to be willing to devote time to ensuring good governance and strategic direction by attending evening Board meetings, the Annual General Meeting and occasional planning days and events. You will also be encouraged to attend meetings of the Finance and Audit Committee. Board and Committee Meetings are held bi-monthly at our Head Office in Stockport, situated close to the mainline train station.
Although the trustee role is voluntary we pay reasonable expenses and support trustees with induction and on-going training. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to impact positively on the lives of the people we support and to contribute to the development of a national not-for-profit organisation.
Creative Support is an Investor in People employer and Stonewall Diversity Champion. We are a welcoming and inclusive organisation and we are seeking to increase the representation of women and people from BAME and LGBT groups on the Board.

Please send an introductory email expressing your interest and a CV to email@example.com in the first instance and an application pack, including application form, will be sent to you.
Deadline for receipt of completed application forms: 27th September 2019.
