FINANCE

Cambridge Community Arts are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals with relevant expertise and experience to join our Board of Trustees. 

Trustees have legal responsibility for the governance of Cambridge Community Arts, as outlined in the Articles of Association, ensuring it is delivering its charitable objectives, and is financially sound and compliant.

We wish to appoint someone with experience of financial management or accounting at a senior level. Your background could be in charity or business, and we welcome someone with a knowledge of charity financial responsibilities. You will be expected to join the Finance Subcommittee who meet 4 times a year and be considered to take the role of Treasurer as voted in by members of the Board at the AGM.

We are seeking well-networked individuals who are prepared to influence on behalf of the charity and particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental ill-health or disabilities and those from minority backgrounds.

Time commitment: The Board each meet 4-5 times per year in Cambridge (or online when necessary). All Trustees are expected to attend meetings. In addition, to assist with relevant matters between meetings, for example strategic planning or fundraising activities. A minimum of 20 hours per year is expected. 

Salary: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Travel expenses within a 50-mile radius of Cambridge can be covered, it is expected that candidates will live in the East of England.

Criteria: Members must not be disqualified from being a trustee (through bankruptcy, disqualification as a director, removal as a trustee, non-spent conviction of dishonesty or corruption) and the role will require 2 references, declaration of any conflicts of interest and a DBS check.
