Gas Safe Charity
A new opportunity has arisen for a Treasurer to join the Board of the Gas Safe Charity. We want to strengthen the Board with a Trustee who has a financial background who can act as Treasurer. The Treasurer will work closely with the Chair and Trustees to oversee the financial management of the Charity and advise on strategic matters.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of charity financial procedures and the reporting requirements of the Charity Commission, SORP and Companies House. However, a desire to support a small established organisation and a willingness to learn and adapt skills to our needs is the most important quality we are looking for.
This is not a major commitment of time, but it is expected that the Treasurer will attend Board meetings and be available to deal with issues as they arise. The Board currently meets six times a year during the day in central London, plus an Awayday once a year. The time commitment is estimated to be one day a month on average.
The Gas Safe Charity is an equal opportunities organisation. For this vacancy, we would particularly welcome applications from women and BAME communities. The closing date for applications is 12 September and shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal discussion with a Trustee Panel in mid to late September.
