Citizens Advice Croydon is a small charity that provides information and advice to help people resolve their problems, including benefits, debt, employment, housing and so on. We provide free and independent advice to help people solve the problems they face, and improve the policies and practices that affect peoples’ lives. We have just secured a 3 year Advice Contract from Croydon Borough Council enabling us to provide generalist advice services to those most in need. In addition we run a Macmillan Cancer Support project to provide welfare benefits advice to individuals with a cancer diagnosis and also run the Help to Claim project to support individuals making Universal Credit applications. We help around 6,000 clients a year with over 17,000 advice problems.
Citizens Advice Croydon is a member of the national Citizens Advice charity which means we have access to the services, resources and support provided by national Citizens Advice but as an independent charity, we’re responsible for running our own affairs within agreed standards. We have 14 staff, over 40 volunteers and operate from four different locations. Our annual operating costs are around £465K.

This role requires:
An understanding of charity finance and pensions would be useful but is not essential.
A finance or accounting qualification and up to date knowledge of financial reporting requirements is desirable.
