Deben Extra Care Society is an independent charity formed in 1976 to run the Highlands residential home in Woodbridge on a not-for-profit basis. The society is fully autonomous, but is also a member society of the Abbeyfield Society, a national provider of care homes. We are recruiting a new Treasurer to act as a trustee, an officer and director of the Society, and a member of the Committee. We are looking for someone with a background in finance and accounting with solid experience in audit processes and preparation of statutory accounts.
The board meet 8 times a year and role responsibilities and additional time commitment outside the board meetings is negotiable as we appreciate that some candidates can offer more time than others. We are keen to recruit someone who will make suggested improvements to the role and its structure. We will be recruiting a finance assistant to help the Treasurer with the day to day activities and would encourage applicants to participate in this process.
