North Craven Building Preservation Trust Ltd
North Craven Building Preservation Trust
SETTLE, North Yorkshire
Do you have an accountancy background and would like to become involved with an ambitious charity in the Yorkshire Dales, which rescues important buildings at risk? The North Craven Building Preservation Trust’s portfolio includes The Folly, one of the area’s most outstanding Grade I listed, 17th century building, and a Grade II listed 19th century chapel - both in the centre of Settle.
Our Trust is a small, progressive charity and we need a Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees to help drive the financial resilience of the organisation forward. The financial position of the Trust is sound and well documented and we generate income from several commercial initiatives and from property rentals.
Recent developments include a vibrant and popular café (The Folly Coffee House), new collections storage facilities and a 2-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project, led by a Heritage Development Officer (HDO). We have recently engaged a new a full time Operations Manager, initially for a year.
The Trust has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to open up all of The Folly building to the public and to become a self-sustaining key attraction for the Settle area and Yorkshire Dales.
In this role, you will be the key point of contact for all aspects of the finances of the organisation. You will also coordinate and supervise the work of our part-time Book-keeper and will work closely with the Operations Manager on the commercial aspects of the Trust.
You will be strongly supported by a pro-active and enthusiastic Board of Trustees. We also have a close relationship with other heritage organisations in The Dales.
If you are able to spend time on site in Settle, are able to commit several hours a week (we estimate around seven) to the work of the Trust, have an interest in culture and would like to join a strong team of Trustees and volunteers at a time of change, do get in touch.
For an initial, informal discussion, please contact the Trust Chairman, Steve Amphlett at firstname.lastname@example.org
