Role

Trustee / Board secretary

RUSS is a Community Land Trust based in South East London. We are a volunteer-led charitable organisation working to build sustainable communities of genuinely affordable, high-quality homes in London. Last year we built a community hub in Lewisham, and we are currently developing 33 new homes on the same site that are co-designed and partly self-built by future residents.

We help to spread our model and pass on the lessons from our projects through the RUSS School of Community-Led Housing and a busy calendar of public events.  Our 1000+ members get involved in volunteer activities ranging from housebuilding to organising workshops.

We are looking to recruit three or four new Trustees and a board secretary to join our board.

The board meet every six weeks, either virtually or in South or Central London. Trustee meetings are held in the evenings and occasionally at weekends.

RUSS is a charitable organisation run by volunteers; as such all of our Trustees are unpaid.

RUSS seeks to reflect the community it operates in – so we are especially keen to recruit Trustees from the BAME community. We aim to have an equal gender mix on the Board, and would welcome applicants with disabilities.
