Trustee | Railway Housing Association
|Job Title:||Trustee | Railway Housing Association|
|Contact Name:||Jennifer Horan|
|Job Published:||May 26, 2020 12:54|
About the role
Railway Housing Association was established in 1919, is a registered charity and Registered Social Landlord. It provides social housing specialising in rented accommodation for older people, with some general needs’ properties.
The Association owns over 1,575 homes for rent, lease, and shared ownership, located in 24 local authority areas in the North East of England and in Hereford. This wide geographic spread means that the Association’s biggest challenges are ensuring that it can provide an equitable service to all and continue to establish a presence within the local community.
The areas in which the Association has a significant presence are Doncaster, Hull, York, Darlington & Durham County.
The Association is embarking on a new strategy which outlines a number of key strategic goals, focusing on residents, our homes, value for money, our organisation and our people. The core of this strategy is to continue our unstinting focus on providing safe, well-maintained homes and services that meet our residents’ needs.
Who we're looking for
To continue to make best use of our resources and provide good quality, desirable and affordable homes for residents in need of housing, the board wants to attract a new Trustee with experience in strategic finance and risk and who can bring a different background and perspective to the board. This person will also join our audit committee.
Meetings are held in Darlington approximately six times per year, plus two strategy away days; we expect the time commitment to be up to a day a month.
