The Teaching Staff Trust
The Teaching Staff Trust is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered with the Charities Commission. It was formed late in 2016 out of the School Governesses Benevolent Institution (SGBI) and supports people who work (or have worked) within the education of under 19 year olds for at least 5 years - this includes ancilliary and support staff has well as those in the teaching profession. We provide individuals with financial support to meet their needs arising from circumstances that they couldn't have anticipated or expected.
We are funded solely through the return on our investments.
We want to recruit trustees with financial, accounting and/or investment management experience to join the board. We look for people who can demonstrate (1) commitment to our purpose (2) a willingness to meet our minimum time requirement (3) integrity (4) strategic vision (5) good, independent judgement (6) an ability to think creatively (7) a willingness to speak their mind (8) an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship (9) an ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of TST
