We are recruiting 3 roles for our Board of Trustees at Project MAMA - Fundraising Trustee, Treasurer and Organisational Development Trustee. Further information on the organisation, roles and how to apply can be found below. The Project MAMA website - https://projectmama.org/ - can also provide more information on the organisation and what we do.
Project MAMA is a peer support service launched in March 2018, offering antenatal, birth and postnatal support to women who are asylum seekers, refugees, and those with irregular immigration status. We believe that every woman has the right to give birth safely, make her own empowered, evidence based choices and receive the support she needs for a positive birth and early parenting experience. We support women in Bristol through linking mamas with specialist birth companions who extol compassion and solidarity by supporting women who have overcome significant adversity on their journey to motherhood.
We are seeking individuals with a commitment to women's rights and gender equality, and who have: expertise in migration and/or asylum policy; and/or knowledge of the migrant experience and migrant organisations.
Trustees are expected to attend four meetings a year, usually 6pm - 8pm on a weekday evening at our office in Easton, Bristol as well as our Annual General Meeting. We additionally request 1-2 days’ commitment per month to support the running of the organisation from Project MAMA Headquarters.
