The Parent House Trust is a small registered charity based near Kings Cross station in London, and aims to improve the lives of the many disadvantaged parents in the local community by delivering free courses and mentoring, and by providing high quality 1-to-1 support/counselling and a creche for them. By helping them, we also help their children thrive.
We recently won a Queen's Award for Volunteering.
As well as the normal responsibilities of a Charity Trustee, you will:
-Oversee the financial affairs of the Trust and ensure that they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice,
-Oversee the efficient production of necessary financial reports, statutory accounts and returns
-Monitor and report on the Trust's financial health to the Board,
Interpret and advise on financial data and procedures to the Board and the Executive Director
-Lead in appointing and overseeing the work of independent examiners/auditors
-Contribute to 4 or 5 Board meetings per year held in the early evening at Kings Cross and to other working groups or meetigs at convenient times.
We would expect you to:
-Have a good background in accounting or financial management
-Have knowledge of charity SORP rules or willingness to learn and apply them
-Have a sympathy with and commitment to the aims and objectives of the Trust
