Community Transport Waltham Forest
We aim to be an efficient, effective, sustainable community transport service putting our customers and communities first.
We work, together with our partner agencies, to improve the quality of life and well-being of all communities in Waltham Forest and Newham by providing a customer focused transport service aimed at improving access to health, education, social and economic opportunities to all sectors of the community.
As a member of the Management Committee you will be committed to the vision and brand values of CTWF ensuring the name and reputation of CTWF is safeguarded and that we comply with regulatory requirements.
As a trustee you will be responsible for setting strategic objectives for the organisation, monitoring our financial position, supporting the design of new services to best meet the needs of communities in East London.
What are we looking for?
Skills including business development, policy making, HR, marketing would add real value to the pool of expertise we currently have on the committee. Experience in the Health, Social Care Sector would be an added benefit.
What difference will you make?
For the first time in its existence Community Transport Waltham Forest is approaching a £1million turnover. This has been a glass ceiling for many years and we now need to grow the skills on the management committee to support this growth and ensure the organisation continues to develop and grow its services across East London.
We need new thinkers to join our existing trustees to bring fresh approaches to the management committee and add new expertise to the design and delivery of our services. There is new potential to grow in areas such as Enfield and Redbridge and the organisation has a key strategic focus on tackling loneliness and isolation which needs service design for the organisation.
What's in it for the volunteer?
Accessible transport such as the service we offer is often overlooked as an important tool to ensure that individuals who face public transport barriers as still able to remain connected to community life , are able to undertake their daily essentials and pursue their individual interests.
By contributing to the strategic development and management of the organisation you will form a vital part of how the organisation functions, help create new services and increase the impact of the organisation on communities and individuals requiring assisted transport .
The role requires a commitment to attending 5 -6 meetings per year with occasional task force meetings when required.
Meetings are held 5 minutes walk from Walthamstow Central
