About Tree Aid

Tree Aid is an international development organisation working with people in the drylands of Africa to tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis by growing trees, improving people’s incomes, and restoring and protecting land.

At this critical moment for our work, we are looking for new Trustees to join our board and help oversee the strategic direction and growth of the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to support transformational change for some of the world’s most vulnerable people who are living on the frontline of the climate crisis. Tree Aid works in partnership with communities in the drylands of Africa, using forestry and natural resource management to relieve poverty and protect the environment. We are values led, unique in what we do and are growing fast.

About the role

You will be joining an existing team of passionate and experienced trustees to support the organisations mission, strategic direction and growth over the coming years.

The trustee role will support Tree Aid by

  • Ensuring that Tree Aid has a clear vision, mission and strategy
  • Being responsible for the of the oversight of the performance of Tree Aid
  • Ensuring that Tree Aid’s governance is of the highest possible standard;
  • Holding the Chief Executive accountable for the achievement of the organisation's goal
  • Ensuring that Tree Aid complies with all legal and regulatory requirements;

We are particularly looking for Trustees with skills in Finance and Corporate Governance, International Development and Campaigning and Advocacy
