Learning By Heart was created with 2 principal goals:
To foster the continuation of learning for children and adults in the UK and elsewhere during the Covid-19 pandemic by offering universally affordable individual support
To help widen access to education for girls and young women in Sub-Saharan Africa
We provide online classes in a range of subjects run by volunteer tutors. In exchange for this the pupils make donations to one of our select projects / charities who provide access to education in developing countries. We are currently using donations to provide funding to CAMFED.
The pupils come from a range of backgrounds and the system operates on a pay-as-you-feel basis. We therefore provide access to tutoring for those in the UK and beyond who cannot afford traditional tutoring methods. Our pupils are typically UK based and studying for GSCE or A-Level exams, however one of our key values is that education is for everyone, and therefore lessons are provided to pupils of all ages from all around the world.
Learning by Heart was created in the summer of 2020 and is currently undergoing the process of becoming a UK registered charity. We are looking for trustees to guide and support the charity as we grow and help us increase access to education for everyone.
