Job Description

The Great North Wood Education Trust is a Multi Academy Trust (MAT), formed in May 2017 when Rosendale Primary School and The Elmgreen School came together to form the MAT. We have a shared commitment to inclusive, innovative and evidenced based practice in order to provide outstanding outcomes for all pupils from 0 to 19.

Both of the schools hold unique characteristics.  Rosendale Primary School is a designated research school, one of only 32 such schools in the country and one of just four in London.  Research schools are charged with supporting school leaders to bring evidence based practice into their classrooms and to encourage all education professionals to engage more deeply with research. The Elmgreen School was the first parent promoted school in Britain.  Elmgreen also houses the Lambeth Hearing Impairment secondary resource base.

The Trust believes that the key to outstanding outcomes for children is to provide an excellent training and development programme for all staff.  We all work together to share best practice, engage in research and participate in local, national and international networks.

The Trust is now looking to appoint a new Trustee who has experience of working in or with schools.  This experience should be at senior level. Ideally they should have an excellent understanding of educational research, what works to improve pupil outcomes and how schools can make that happen.

The responsibilities of the trustees, the skills and experience looked for and the time commitment involved are set out in the role description.

If you would like to apply, please send a short CV and a covering letter that sets out your interest and suitability for the post.  Your CV and covering letter should be returned to by Friday 16th October.

If you have any questions about this, or would like know more about becoming an academy trustee you can get in touch with the chair of trustees, Michael Brady, on
