This collaborative educational Trust serves a vibrant rural community and is committed to providing the best possible learning experiences for pupils and students in our schools: Dobwalls, Landulph and Trewidland Primary and Liskeard, Looe and Saltash Secondary. Collectively they have a total of approximately 3,000 students, 450 staff and a budget of £17m.
The Trust is seeking to appoint two Trustees to join the Board. The particular areas of responsibility we are looking to fill are Compliance and Health and Safety combined with premises issues. Some experience and expertise is obviously an advantage, but enthusiasm for creating a safe and inspiring environment for our children to learn in is more important.
Trustees are jointly responsible for the general control and management of the administration of the Trust. In addition they must carry out the three core governance functions:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Hold the Executive Team to account for the educational performance of the Trust’s schools
- Oversee the financial performance of the Trust and make sure its money is well spent
This exciting opportunity is for people who share our passion for improving the life chances of all children and who will help us shape the future direction of education in South East Cornwall.
