Job Description

The Bath and North East Somerset Carers’ Centre is looking for up to three new Trustees to join the Board. These positions are voluntary and unpaid.

We are a successful Charity, existing to improve the lives of unpaid adult and young carers.

The role of unpaid carers is central and increasing in our society. We provide information, advice, free breaks, support, community cafes and engage with the wider community to support carers of all ages.

Whether you are an experienced Trustee or wanting to take your first steps at Board level we welcome applications from candidates interested in helping the Charity develop and ensure a sustainable future. Anyone currently in a caring role, or who has experience of such, is particularly encouraged.

We are looking for people who are committed to understanding and improving the lives of unpaid carers. In addition, applicants with an interest or experience in one or more of the following fields would be welcome.

  • Digital & Social Media
  • Financial & Accounting
  • Risk Management
  • Volunteer Management

Trustees are expected to attend four Board meetings each year held in Bath, in the evening. Our Trustees take an active role in sub committees, which meet four times a year and there is an expectation to take part in key events and be an active ambassador for the Charity.

As a Trustee you will have:

  • Induction, training & reimbursable expenses
  • Opportunities to make strategic decisions and develop new skills
  • A real chance to improve the lives of carers

The Carers’ Centre is a registered charity and committed to equality and diversity.

In order to apply please submit your CV, along with a covering statement stating why you wish to join the organisation, the skills and experience you would bring the board and any other relevant information.
