The Pituitary Foundation is the leading UK charity for people affected by conditions of their pituitary gland. From the moment someone is diagnosed with a pituitary condition through treatment and beyond, we’re here providing support, information and a community. We empower people with a pituitary condition and work towards greater awareness and understanding of pituitary disease.

If you want to make a positive difference to the lives of people affected by rare health conditions, who face many challenges and barriers every day, this is a fantastic chance to join our passionate team as our Treasurer at The Pituitary Foundation and to really make a tangible difference. 

We are currently looking for someone to join us as Treasurer to:

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the charity, lead the Finance Sub-Committee, as well as make active contributions to the charity's organisational effectiveness. 
  • Ensure our financial affairs are conducted within legal requirements, applicable accounting standards and good practice. 
  • Work in partnership with the Chair, Chief Executive, board members and staff team to provide advice and guidance regarding the health of the charity's financial position and outlook in the short and long term. 

We are specifically looking for a qualified accountant and preferably an individual with experience of charity finance.  We would particularly welcome candidates from under-represented groups including: women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, disabled people and young people. 

Strong empathy with the experiences of people affected by challenging health conditions is an essential requirement.  Previous Treasurer experience is desirable but not essential. 

The expected time commitment of the rolw is approximately 7 hours per month on average, to include the dual aspects of the Treasurer's role - the financial responsibilities (e.g. Finance Sub-Committee) and also the general trustee duties (quarterly Board meetings etc). 

All Board and Sub-Committees currently meet virtually and we are keen to ensure all meetings are as inclusive as possible for everyone. This is a voluntary role and out of pocket expenses will be provided.
