We are seeking to recruit a Trustee who will take on the role of Honorary Treasurer, to join our high calibre board for an exciting opportunity to make a difference at the Anaphylaxis Campaign.

We are the only UK wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk from severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.

The Anaphylaxis Campaign is led by its Board of 8 Trustees, who are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the charity.

As Treasurer/Trustee, you will have a shared legal responsibility for the overall management and decision-making of the charity and the opportunity to make a valuable and important contribution to our current work and future direction.

About you

The successful candidate will: 

  • be a qualified accountant with demonstrated commercial awareness and knowledge

  • have proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders

  • have analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement

  • have an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship

  • have good communication and leadership skills

  • have experience and knowledge of commercial or charity risk management.

Working with an experienced and highly skilled board, you will oversee financial, internal control and risk management matters of the charity and will support the business manager in reporting on these to the Board.

This is a voluntary role requiring a minimum commitment of approximately half a day per month involving attending Board meetings and sub-committee meetings and time spent responding to communications, reading and considering papers. The Board meets 4 times a year and the meetings are generally held at 2.30pm in a location in London, with one meeting per year held at the charity’s offices in Farnborough. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
