Role

Treasurer, Friends of the Geffrye Museum

We are the Friends of the much-loved Geffrye Museum, the Museum of the Home in Shoreditch, London (https://www.geffrye-museum.org.uk/supportus/friends-of-geffrye/).  We are an independent charity which promotes and supports the activities of the Museum, runs cultural and educational events and activities for Museum Friends, and raises funds for the Museum itself.

The Friends Group is run by a small friendly volunteer committee.  We meet for two hours once a month, and each of us spends a further two hours a week on committee business, on average.    We are now seeking a Treasurer to join us and to replace our current Treasurer whose term of office finishes at the end of March.  Whilst running a stimulating programme of our own events over the coming year, we are preparing for the exciting relaunch of the Museum in early 2020.  As Treasurer, you will be involved in these activities, and you will be directly responsible for our very straightforward accounting, which simply requires basic accounting/arithmetical skills, diligence, and honesty.

If you’d like to join us and be part of this wonderful project, please contact Liz Philipson, the Chair of the Friends of the Geffrye Museum, at chair@fotgm.org, with a short statement of why you are interested and what relevant skills you have for this role.
