The Reframe Collective is looking for a treasurer that can help us take the next steps in our journey as an organisation.

About Reframe Collective

 We are a collective of individuals from a range of backgrounds (birth parents, social workers, lawyers, psychologists and academics) who are passionate about seeing transformation in systems that support and work with parents. We aim to reframe dominant narratives by highlighting the context and inequalities involved in the child protection system, and the hidden impact this process has on those involved.

We are organised into a board of trustees who are responsible for the strategic direction of the Reframe Collective and a steering group that is responsible for implementing the strategy and operational matters. 

During the past 2 years we have been working hard to set up the organisation consistent with our charitable purposes and in accordance with our values and we are now looking for a treasurer to support our organisational growth.

Skills & experience required

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management.

  • Good financial analysis skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with a range of individuals

  • Interest in or experience of the systems that works to support families 

  • Ability to work in accordance with the Reframe Collective’s values


General trustee duties

  • Make sure that the Reframe Collective follows the rules set out in its Constitution and only works to promote the charitable objects.

  • Ensure that the funds of the Reframe Collective are only spent on it’s charitable objects. 

  • Contribute actively to the Board discussions and decision-making. Every board member has an equal voice and responsibility  and it is important that diverse perspectives are part of the board discussion;

  • Help safeguard the good name and values of the Reframe Collective;

  • Make sure that the financial stability and sustainability of the Reframe Collective is part of the strategic decision-making and planning; and

  • Support and challenge the Steering Group and where necessary appoint members to the steering group. 

Alongside the general trustee duties, the Treasurer will:

  • together with  the board, oversee the financial affairs of the Reframe Collective and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.

  • support the Steering Group to ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.

  • monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation in collaboration with the Steering Group.

  • support the Steering Group in  the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.

  • support and guide the steering group in the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year.

  • lead on appointing and liaising with auditors/an independent examiner.




 You will be expected to attend 3 board meetings per year as well as participate in trustee training/away days (around ½ day per year). 

In addition, you will attend quarterly meetings with steering group representatives regarding financial reporting as well as procedures and controls.
