Job Description

About Carers Network

Carers Network is an independent charity. Our vision is that every unpaid carer is recognised and leads a healthy, fulfilling life with control over their caring role. We are a small, friendly and dynamic team working with unpaid adult carers in diverse boroughs in central London.

For more than 25 years we have been working with carers to provide information, advice and support, along with social events, breaks and other services to ensure that carers are well informed, supported and healthy. We currently work with more than 5,000 carers in the City of Westminster, London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

Carers Network is an equal opportunity employer and service provider that recognises and celebrates diversity. We are a London Living wage employer.

We aim for our Board of trustees to include a minimum of 50% carers or former carers.

Commitment level

Board meetings are every two months on a Wednesday evening from 6.00pm to 8.30pm.

Finance and Risk Committee meetings are every three months, generally on a Wednesday evening, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

There are occasional meetings in addition to this such as an annual Board awayday.

Meetings either take place at the Beethoven Centre in Queen’s Park or Canary Wharf.

Support in this role

All trustees receive an induction to Carers Network and any training and support needed to help you to contribute effectively.
