Accounting for International Development
Our partner works with leading artists and scientists locally, nationally, and internationally, to produce unique and exciting works of contemporary art and new scientific ideas exploring our environment and climate change.
They are looking to appoint a Treasurer to their Board of Trustees and are seeking an individual who has a demonstrable personal investment in environmental action, and a passion for creativity and the arts.
There is huge potential for growth of the organisation, and they need an expert finance professional to walk alongside them through the challenges to come.
Working closely with the Executive Director and Finance Manager, the Treasurer will ensure the charity keeps proper accounting records and prepares accounts for each financial year in accordance with external requirements; review financial performance, making sure there are robust and effective financial controls in place, draw up or review financial policies and liaise with finance staff and with the auditor / independent examiner.
The estimated time commitment for the Treasurer is approximately 50 hours a year and they are not expected to undertake day to day financial duties.
The Board meets four times per year, with evening meetings lasting up to two hours. Meetings are held remotely on Zoom. You will also be required to attend four Finance Committee meetings per year in addition to this. There may be occasional meetings with staff to ensure systems and processes are being effectively implemented and managed. The Board meets for an annual away-day with staff.
