Accounting for International Development
Our partner is an established charity with over 20 years' experience supporting asylum seekers and refugees in Slough and the surrounding area, to help them to achieve their rights and settle with dignity in a new community.
Through their advice service, employment support, classes, and social activities they welcome asylum seekers and refugees in Slough, help to improve their quality of life and well being, increase their independence and self-reliance, facilitate integration into the local community and UK life and enhance community cohesion, and celebrate cultural richness and diversity in the community.
They are seeking a qualified accountant, preferably with charity accounting experience, to take up the role of Treasurer.
The Treasurer, a Board of Trustees member, will oversee the management accounts and liaise with the Chief Executive and Finance Officer. All accounts are in Xero online and it is hoped that the Treasurer will work approximately four hours a month and attend bi-monthly Trustee Board meetings (currently online). Remote working is possible.
The Treasurer will have the opportunity to work closely with a friendly team and their input will ensure that the charity continues to be sound and secure so that it can carry on its important work in supporting asylum seekers, refugees and their families in the wider Slough area.
