Role

Treasurer

The Trustees of The Richard Ely Trust for Young Musicians passionately believe that young lives are enriched by making music and the Trust exists to offer financial support to young musicians across Dorset.  Our overheads are minimal and our activities focus on raising money to award to young people.

A Volunteer in the Treasurer's role would oversee the financial operation of the Trust by facilitating and recording all financial transactions as well as operating the Gift Aid scheme and stewardship on behalf of the Trust.  The role also includes the preparation of the Trustees' Annual Report to the Charity Commission.  The position offers the opportunity to experience the workings of a successful, small, local charity and become familiar with the duties of its Trustees.

The time commitment varies but is greater around the time of the 4 annual Trustees’ meetings (February, April, July and October).

All Trustees and Officers of the Trust are required to have a current DBS status.

An honorarium may be considered.
