Job Description

We are Cheadle District Scout Council a registered charity, which oversees all the scout groups in Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme Gatley and Heald Green, including beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers.  We have a turnover of about £45k

We are looking for a new Treasurer and Trustee.

 

The role consists of keeping the books for Cheadle District Scout Council, including making payments and paying in income, as well as reporting regularly to the Cheadle District Scout Executive. The Executive meets about five times a year as well as an Annual General Meeting at which the statutory accounts are presented.

 

The Treasurer is a full participant in the Cheadle District Scout Executive. The Executive remains in a good financial position partly due to managing the income and expenditure associated with Base Camp, a property and district headquarters which is let out to external users. The Executive also manages several district responsibilities including capitation fees for the district, funding district activities and the financial aspects of badges. The role does not need any fundraising knowledge or requirements.

 

The accounting records are in well organised, created by our previous Treasurer.

This role would suit an accountant interested in supporting youth work, who has experience of financial accounting and management preferably in charities of a similar size.
