Treasurer Job description
We are a support network for those who work in the addictions treatment sector and we provide our members with news, events, quality assurance and high quality CPD. We support good practice in the treatment of addiction.
Main purpose of the job
‘A Trustee with a finance focus’. New or seasoned practitioners welcome!
To oversee the financial affairs of the charity, with a c. £100k turnover, to ensure that they are legal, constitutional and within accepted practices. Day to day bookkeeping is currently undertaken. We are a small and friendly team.
Operational colleagues (Chief Exec, Operational lead and Membership Administrator) and fellow Board members (Trustees).
Flavour of responsibilities which, as a small charity, vary according to needs
To ensure that proper records are kept and that effective control procedures are in place to ensure an on-going and effective charity
To report on the financial health of the charity, including cashflows
Oversee the production of the necessary financial reports, returns, accounts for the annual independent review by external accountant
Regularly report the financial position to the Board, interpret the data as necessary to ensure that fellow committee members are up-to-date
Contribute to the Board’s general working, liaison and business planning, with a focus on the financial appraisal of proposals and timely annual budgeting
Location: anywhere with quarterly meetings typically in central London afternoons. Trustees are spread. Task working can be anywhere.
