In addition to being part of the board of Trustees, the Treasurer will have responsibility for maintaining an oversight of the organisation’s financial function, and advising fellow Trustees on financial matters.
The overall role of the treasurer is to maintain an overview of Lifecraft’s financial affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. The Treasurer works with the Lifecraft Manager and Financial Manager to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate financial processes and reporting.
As Treasurer, you will be expected to undertake the following tasks:
- Report to the Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, ensuring good practice and adherence to legal requirements.
- Advise the board on how to carry out its financial responsibilities
- Delivery and oversight of financial policies, procedures and controls.

We are looking for a qualified accountant, ideally with previous experience of charity accounting and reporting. Previous experience as a Trustee is beneficial but not essential as a full induction and training will be provided.
Applicants should be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Trustee meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday 4pm – 6pm every month and you will be expected to contribute approximately 5-10 hours of your time per month to be a fully active Lifecraft Trustee. This is a voluntary role with expenses reimbursed.
Please provide your CV and a supporting statement that outlines your skills, experience and motivation for applying. Applicants are encouraged to visit Lifecraft during the recruitment period and will be invited to interviews on a rolling basis.
