We are looking for someone with financial qualifications and experience and a commitment to the work of the organisation to join us and take over from our retiring Treasurer. Good strategic thinking skills, sound judgement, integrity and the ability to work effectively as a member of a small friendly team will also be valuable attributes. This role is a great opportunity for someone keen and able to play a key role in a progressive grant-making Trust.
Comprising a small, dedicated team of staff and trustees, the Bromley Trust provides grants to UK registered charities working on human rights and prison reform issues. The work supported by the Trust is hugely valuable and makes a real difference to people’s lives. The Treasurer plays a central role in overseeing the Trust’s financial affairs, alongside the other Trustees, and works closely with the two staff members who undertake the day-to-day work and an Investment Lead Trustee who oversees our Investment portfolio. As a member of the Trustee Board, the Treasurer is also responsible for helping to develop the Trust’s overall organisational strategy, seeking to build on its effectiveness and impact to date. You do not need to have previous experience of being a trustee as a full induction into the role will be provided.
Trustees are not renumerated for their time but will be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses for attending Board meetings or representing the Trust as required.
Please see the recruitment pack for full details of the role. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 15th September 2021.
