Please note this is a volunteer position for a Charity based in Lambeth London.
The Healthy Living Club at Lingham Court in Lambeth is a charity which is regarded as an eamaple of good practice nationally but has no statutory funding. This means we have to develop our own source of funding and regular income in order to sustain our activities.
These activities are for dementia centred care for early onset and diagnosis. The club is a registered charity founded and run by people with dementia, their carers and friends, including a group of regular voluteers. We meet every Wednesday at Lingham Court, an extra housing scheme in Stockwell to be with each other and to engage in a programme of health enhancing activities chosen to meet the needs of people with dementia.
The activities include chair based exercises, social activities including singing, art, games, poetry and discussions/interaction. Members also enjoy a two course lunch together. The club reduces isolation and enhances social connection.
We are seeking a Treasurer who can voluteer to the club and help as we try and become more sustainable. It would very much suit a retired accountant or book keeper who is interested in what we do and what the club has to offer the community. We meet once a month for trustees meetings @ Lingham Court and once every 3-4 months for an away day. The accounts are prepared yearly. Any background in accountancy would be ideal as we are now trying to become more sustainable and finding different ways to do this.
