Job Description

Treasurer - Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK (SRUK)

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior finance professional to join the Board of Trustees of the dynamic health charity Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK, in the role of Board Treasurer.

We’re seeking candidates with the skills, knowledge and experience to support the Chief Executive and the senior management team in delivering a bold and ambitious strategy and to provide appropriate oversight of the governance of SRUK. You will have financial qualifications and long-term financial experience in any sector.

This is an exciting time to join SRUK: We have a clear ambition to achieve transformation and growth in terms of accelerating benefits to patients through research and support. We believe there is an opportunity for us to adapt to the current climate and become more entrepreneurial and commercial, particularly in relation to research.

If you have the required skills and expertise and are keen to be part of our journey, we would be delighted to hear from you!

About Us

SRUK was established in April 2016 following the merger of the Scleroderma Society and the Raynaud’s and Scleroderma Association.

Raynaud's is estimated to affect up to 10 million people in the UK and is a vascular condition affecting the blood vessels in the extremities of the body, commonly but not exclusively, the hands and/or feet. Raynaud's phenomenon can exist on its own and is often hereditary (Primary Raynaud's).  However, Raynaud's can be the first symptom of scleroderma often occurring many years before other symptoms.

Scleroderma is a rarer connective tissue disease, which can affect adults and children. It causes scarring in the skin and internal organs, and its course may be mild and non-progressive, or it may be severe and life-threatening.

The causes of Raynaud's and scleroderma remain unknown and there is still no cure though some treatments are available.
