Heritage of London Trust (HOLT) helps preserve the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and its people. Our work is across the whole of London and our restoration projects help enhance the city, keep its character, and provide a link to its diverse history.
Now in our 40th year, we are looking for a Treasurer to support the Board of Trustees in carrying out their financial responsibilities while achieving HOLT's charitable objectives. The postholder will replace our longstanding Treasurer who retires in December 2020.
You will need financial qualifications and an interest in supporting London’s heritage. The role offers a great opportunity to get out around London from time to time and build knowledge of the city and its intriguing places. Depending on your background and experience, you will be supporting the Board with valuable financial oversight at points throughout the year.
Responsibilities include ensuring proper accounting records are kept, preparing budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements for Board approval, reporting to the Board at meetings three times a year and liaising with external auditors on specific issues in the auditing process. You will need an understanding of the dynamics of a professional body and experience of strategic financial planning.
It is anticipated that the time commitment should be no more than 2 hours a week on average. Whilst the role is unpaid, reasonable expenses are payable in line with HOLT’s policy.
Please send a CV and a covering letter outlining your interest and suitability to email@example.com by 28 November 2020. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in early December.
