BROS TC, one of the premier amateur musical theatre companies in London, is seeking a Treasurer to work within a dedicated team of people who run the society. The Treasurer is responsible for all financial aspects of the society from managing the Company accounts and reporting, to providing budgeting advice to the management committee and production teams of shows. Suits someone interested in theatre with a couple of hours a week to spare, plus a monthly meeting, first Monday each month. 

The Treasurer is ultimately responsible for all financial aspects of the Society, managing the Company Accounts and providing financial advice & help to the Committee & production team. Along with the Chair & the Secretary, they are a trustee & officer of the Society, and are responsible for the proper running of the Society according to both its Rules and all appropriate laws & regulations.

Main responsibilities:

●    Recording all income & expenditure for the Society in the Accounts
●    Managing the Society’s bank accounts & payment services, including deposits, payments & transfers of funds
(Petty cash; Signatories; Direct Debit & PayPal accounts etc.)
●    Assisting production teams with the financial aspects of shows, including budgeting
●    Assisting committee members with the general day-to-day financial aspects of the Society
(Membership; Social events; Workshops; Theatre trips etc.)
●    Managing Club 24, the Society’s monthly prize draw
●    Liaising with HMRC & the Charity Commission, and preparing & submitting the required regulatory returns
(Gift Aid claims; Trustees’ Annual Report & Financial Accounts etc.)
●    Procuring adequate insurance for the Society to cover its various activities
(Property & Liability; Committee Indemnity etc.)
●    Acting as Trustee for the Society, ensuring the Society is well run and properly managed in accordance with the objectives laid out in the BROS TC Rules
