Sightsavers, Trustee (Finance/Commercial background)

Approximately 8 days per year

Use your finance and commercial skills to serve a globally respected charity growing in income, impact and influence.

·       Over a billion people, about 15% of the world’s population, have some form of disability.

·       253 million people across the world are visually impaired across the world; 36m are blind.

·       Over 80% of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured.

In recent years we have developed programmes in the vanguard of innovation and effectiveness in eye health, neglected tropical disease control and elimination and disability.

We are seeking an individual to join the Board of Trustees, the Audit and Investment Committees and together with a highly impressive group of trustees help lead an organisation that continues to grow in income, impact and influence.

You will have an accountancy or other financial qualification and one or more of the following key skillsets;

·       Corporate and transaction risk management;

·       International finance and treasury;

·       General commercial and contract management;

·       Investment management;

·       Programme management

·       Audit and Assurance including Audit Committee experience.

You will also bring strategic vision, strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities and the ability to listen and engage effectively. You will also have an interest in international development and global health.
