Nurtureuk is an incorporated charity with an income of ~£1M dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people and removing barriers to learning by promoting nurture in education.
We provide training for teachers, support and resources and promote evidence-based research. We are putting plans in place for expansion to enable us to meet the significant demand for our services and improve the lives of many more children and young people.
The Finance, Audit and Risk Committee will play an important role during this period of change, advising the Board on the financial aspects and risk management.
We are looking for a volunteer with financial experience to join the Committee as an independent member for a term of 3 years.
To review and advise the Board of Trustees on:
- the adequacy and effectiveness of arrangements for financial management, risk management, control and governance;
- the draft annual budget;
- the annual financial statements;
- the provision of external audit;
- taking appropriate steps in order to comply with all relevant aspects of law, regulation and good practice.
The Committee meets in central/east London 4 times a year, normally for 1-2 hours and there is some flexibility regarding the time of day.
Please send cv or outline of relevant experience, and indication of why you are interested in volunteering.
