This is an opportunity to contribute to the community within Sowerby by becoming an Academy Ambassador and Trustee at Together Learning Trust. Board meetings are held at HX6 1DG when safe to do so, however are currently held via virtual means.
The Academy Ambassadors programme brings the expertise of the business world onto boards at single-academy and multi-academy trusts (SATs and MATs) throughout the country to raise standards of education and improve the life chances of young people, which is critical to our social and economic success.
Together Learning Trust was founded in September 2019, with five partner schools, two secondary-age schools (Ryburn Valley and Honley) and three primary-age schools (Bolton Brow, Meltham and Netherton Nursery & Infant). The trust has a budget of approx. £20.6m, and employs 435 staff to support and inspire over 3400 young people across Kirklees and Calderdale in West Yorkshire. All 5 schools are Ofsted rated as ‘Good’ and developing toward outstanding.
The trust’s ambition is to grow great people and talent in the region and beyond and expand to at least double in size over the next five years. They are driven by a shared commitment to providing magical learning experiences for all the trust’s children, and a belief that all of them can achieve great things. Each trust school has their own unique strengths within different communities, and adopt a mentality of standing out and standing together to support and empower each other to become leading schools with confident, principled and successful students.
The trust continues to provide top quality support, training and challenge to school leaders as they shape the exceptional achievements of their school communities, and believes that school life is enriching and purposeful for everyone, placing young people front and centre in all they do.
‘Our touchstones are integrity, creativity and excellence. Our staff are amazing, in both the relationships they forge and the incredible range of opportunities they make possible. We get great results, but we give and expect so much more. We are shaping a generation of future global citizens with the character they need to succeed; with the integrity and commitment to excellence that will enable them to thrive.
