UHS Pharmacy Ltd is an independent subsidiary of Southampton General Hospital and provides outpatient pharmacy services. Established to improve the patient experience we use the latest technology to make us as efficient as possible. As well as dispensing services we offer a range of other services including outpatient prescriptions filled and medicines advice. Our team of 12 are passionate about providing excellent customer services and deliver the range of services we offer from a purpose-built pharmacy in the hospital.
We have complex dispensing expertise given we cater for Renal and Cancer patients and we have an un-relenting focus on improving the patient experience. In the context of regional collaboration across Hampshire and Dorset and with opportunities to take our expertise into other hospital settings, we are looking ahead to possible expansion. Our new Chair has been working with the board and team to create a plan that will improve and develop our services, putting us in a good position to realise some of these opportunities.
The patient will be at the centre of these plans and on our journey to continuous improvement in our patients’ experience we are now looking to develop our board by introducing a new Non-Executive Director who will bring the expertise and focus to ensure the patient’s needs, journey and experience remains at the centre of our work.
We are looking for a strategic leader who is aligned to our commitment to ensure our operation innovates and evolves with the patient in mind at every step. You must be collaborative and self-assured, able to work effectively with a board comprised of clinicians and business people and wider NHS stakeholders. You will have had experience of a board level role and have had a professional strategic role which has focused on customer/patient experience. You will be adept at understanding customer/patient needs then translating these into strategic development and action.
This will be a highly rewarding role requiring a time commitment of a day a month and with meetings held in Southampton.
