The ICAEW Corporate Governance Committee is seeking new members, with a real passion and point of view about corporate governance, and about the role of business in building fairer societies.
The Corporate Governance Committee is responsible for ICAEW’s technical and policy work on corporate governance matters. Its specific responsibilities include advising on corporate governance developments in the UK, the EU and elsewhere; producing publications or statements for the guidance, assistance or information of members and general public on corporate governance related matters; and identifying matters to which, in the public interest, attention should be drawn.
The committee has a diverse membership with representation from various sectors and professions. In 2020, the committee is particularly keen to hear from individuals in the following groups who are keen to share their opinions on governance issues: internal auditors; company secretaries; consumer representatives; and employee representatives. Members joining the committee will have the opportunity to contribute to dialogue with standard setters, regulators and legislators, influence the development of standards and gain visibitlity for themselves and their firms through representation in the debate.
The committee meets four times a year for two hour meetings in London. Committee members also have the opportunity to participate in other relevant events organised by ICAEW and by other organisations. Successful candidates will be appointed with effect from June 2020 for a first term of two years, until June 2022.
Interested individuals are requested to apply via a CV addressed to Elizabeth Richards, Head of Corporate Governance (email@example.com). Closing date for applications is 13 January 2020.
