James Schirn (Head of ICAEW Governance)
ICAEW is looking to appoint a member with statutory audit experience and a strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to its Audit Committee; to support the Committee’s responsibility for ICAEW’s Financial Statements and liaison with the External Auditors.
Audit committee members use their professional skills and perspective to add value to the internal controls of ICAEW. The ideal candidate would be a senior level professional, with experience of an international dimension, and able to act as a ‘critical friend’ to provide constructive challenge to the Internal Audit function, external auditors and principal risks. They would have sound commercial and political judgement, a collegiate approach and a clear understanding of the non-executive role.
The term of office for Audit Committee members is two years, renewable twice. The committee meets four times a year, in February, June, October and December for half day meetings in London. Meeting papers are provided electronically through a secure platform.
A role description is available on request.
