Job Description
The Chartered Accountants Compensation Scheme (CACS) Committee, is responsible for considering claims for compensation arising from investment business conducted by authorised / licensed firms under ICAEW's Investment Business Regulations and Designated Professional Body (Investment Business) Handbook.
The committee is looking to appoint three non-accountant members to the committee for a three year term starting 4 June 2019.
Applicants will need to have a strong investment business background, preferably in compliance, ideally with a knowledge of the financial services legislation. They will also need to have experience in collaborative decision making, ability to analyse information and make decisions.
The committee meets no more than four times a year, to review / consider claims on the Compensation Scheme. Meetings are held in London at Chartered Accountants Hall or ocassionally in Milton Keynes. Members are able to join meetings by telecon.
The role offers an opportunity to share knowledge, expertise and network with a diverse group of skilled professionals. Committee members are also invited to attend ICAEW's annual committee training event.
The role is unremunerated but expenses are reimbursed and a meeting fee can be claimed for meeting attendance.
