Caterham School was founded in 1811, with close connections to the United Reformed Church, and currently has just under 1,500 pupils aged from 3 to 18, of which about 160 are boarders. Our senior school is academically selective and does exceptionally well at both GCSE and A’levels. We are heavily oversubscribed and are financially very strong.
We are currently looking for three trustees, one of whom will fill the role of Honorary Treasurer. A qualified accountant, the appointed candidate should have advanced financial acumen gained in a senior leadership role and be able to provide the Board with insight and expertise about complex financial matters and financial risk. We are also looking for a legal trustee and the third position is for a board member with insight and expertise on corporate strategy and overseas commercial development.
Board meetings take place four times per year, lasting up to 4 hours, and trustees also sit on a variety of sub-committees depending on their skills, experience and interests. The Honorary Treasurer would become the Chair of the Finance & General Purposes Committee which also meets four times per year.
We are located in the Caterham Valley, about a 10 minute walk from the railway station which has direct trains to London Bridge and Victoria and easy access to East Croydon.
To apply, please send a CV and covering letter to email@example.com. The closing date for applications is 15 November 2019.
Please note that the School would require a Disclosure and Barring Service clearance for working with children as part of the appointment process.
